Fechin, a Russian and Renaissance man with an international reputation who lived for a stint in Taos, is reputed to have crafted many of the home s embellishments, including lintels over interior doors and two ornate exterior doorways and columns. Gaspard, another notable Russian artist is said to have designed and constructed much of the exterior ironwork. I like that it s quirky, not everything is straight or perfect. There are funky doors, aprons and various additions, some Greek revival. Before we ventured through the regal front door, we took a peek at the log cabin, a few meters away from the main house.
